Registration Policies- Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Stud

Class Enrollment

All classes require advance enrollment/registration at: https://firemeupceramics.com/. Registration and fees must be paid at the time of enrollment. For questions about enrolling, please call us at: 785-766-4667 or email: info@firemeupceramics.com

• Tuition is due in full at time of class registration before or on the first day of class.

• Full payment is required to reserve a class spot.

Cancellation, Drop and Refund Policy

If a student drops or cancels an event, class or workshop seven days or more before it begins, a 15% processing fee will be assessed, and a refund issued. If it is less than seven days before the first day of the event, class or workshop, no refund will be given. 

• Cancellations must be made to info@firemeupceramics.com 

         Cancellations should not be made to Facebook, phone or by personal text.

• Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Studios, LLC will not issue any refund or credit for no-shows. 

• Class sessions are not prorated.

Instructor Illness or Inclement Weather -  Cancellation

In the event of inclement weather during the school year, Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Studios, LLC will cancel classes if the local USD School Districts cancels school or after school activities. All weather-related cancelations will be listed on the WIBW website and posted on WIBW channel 13 in the closings banner. If the class is canceled due to inclement weather or instructor illness, every effort will be made to schedule a makeup session. During January class sessions, snow days are planned into our schedule possibly extending the session into mid-March. 

Insufficient enrollment - Class Cancellation

When a class is canceled because of insufficient enrollment, the impacted students will be contacted to determine if they would prefer a class transfer or refund. If a class is canceled by Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Studios, LLC due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be issued. Class transfers are encouraged and a class cancellation due to insufficient enrollment will not occur two months in a row. Please allow up to two weeks for a refund. 

Absences

It is not always possible to provide make-up sessions for missed-classes and make up sessions for missed classes are at the discretion of the instructor. However, all students are welcome to use the studio during open-studio hours. 

Transfers

Transfers to another event, class or workshop are allowed within the first two weeks of class and if space is available. Payment of the difference in price is due at the time of transfer.  

Private Tutoring

We ask that a minimum of 48-hours notice be given to cancel a session. If so, a full refund will be given.

Supplies for Classes

Some classes require the individual to provide some materials and tools. However, Fire Me Up Ceramics will provide 25 lbs of stoneware clay and basic tools for listed classes. Where applicable, a supply list will be furnished either on the course description webpage or on the first day of class. Fire Me Up Ceramics provides the instruction, equipment, glaze and firing for up to 50 lbs of clay per person for each class.

Supplies for Events and Workshops

Supplies for events and workshops are included in the price unless otherwise noted in the registration description. 

Safety

Basic safety procedures will be explained at the beginning of each course and must be strictly adhered to. Any further questions about procedure or use of equipment may be addressed to any instructor or staff member. 

Fire Me Up Ceramics Liability Statement  Participation in a class, workshop, event or any activity held at 1000 N Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608 constitutes a release of liability agreement.    In consideration of your participation in this activity, and in acknowledgment to the law, you hereby release and discharge Fire Me Up Ceramics, LLC and all persons employed or connected with this activity from any and all liability arising from illness, injuries, and damages you may suffer as a result of your participation in this educational/recreational activity. You also understand that Fire Me Up Ceramics, LLC and all persons affiliated  with Fire Me Up Ceramics, LLC are not responsible for any cost incurred for medical services for illness, injuries, and damages to yourselves or others in connection with this activity.

Discipline

If a student does not follow classroom procedures, safety protocols and/or is disruptive to their class: the participant, parent or guardian will be notified and appropriate discipline measures will be taken that could include expulsion from the participation in the activity, camp, event, class or workshop with no refund issued.

Open-studio hours reflect hours that Fire Me Up Ceramics does not have classes, events, or workshops in-session. Hours may change as courses are added or removed from the schedule. Class members and studio renters may check https://firemeupceramics.com/studio-insiders to see the calendar of events happening in addition to regularly scheduled classes on our website.

Firing Policy

This policy is aimed at those people who wish to take advantage of free bisque and glaze firing during class enrollment.

While enrolled in classes, students have 24/7 access to the studio to practice what they are learning in the class. We encourage practicing skills being taught in the class enrolled in. We realize there are many methods of creating ceramics and each class focuses on specific methods. Free glaze and bisque firing are not intended for mass production of any type of ceramic work and/or unlimited free firing. Free glaze and bisque firing will include the 25 lbs of clay provided with class and up to 50 lbs of clay total. Firing fees will apply thereafter. All clay items eligible for free glaze and bisque firing must be made in the Fire Me Up Ceramics Studio. 

Studio Insiders (renters and students) have unlimited access to the studio, regardless of staff presence except when other scheduled events, classes or workshops are in session. Students will honor the limitations of unlimited studio access when classes, events or workshops are in session and during special events, or construction/remodeling activities. Studio renters and students must acknowledges that others may occupy the building during the term of their class registration or lease, including, but not limited to activities of Fire Me Up Ceramics and the Sage Crossing Gallery and that these activities may take precedence over unlimited access to the studio. Waiting list preference will be given to individuals who have taken classes. Your name will move above up the list above those names who have never taken a class. 

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
