Group Reservations

If you have a minimum of 5 participants, we can schedule a time for your party to come and make things out of clay. Clay projects are for all ages although your "age group" will determine if you can use the pottery wheel. We recommend children over 6 years old but ideally 9 years old for the pottery wheel. Everyone, especially younger children can handbuild with clay and we have many projects for handbuilding. No experience with clay is necessary, we will teach you.

Some people ask if they can bring 3 or 4 people and pay for the 5 minimum. Yes, absolutely!

The participants would be creating the pieces out of a chunk, slab or coils of wet clay. We have many options from cups, bowls and plates to free form sculpture or ornaments. No pottery wheel needed.

A pottery wheel turns in a circular motion powered by a motor. You would form a ball of clay into round bowls or dishes. No experience is necessary, we will teach you.

The event starts with a throwing demonstration and we help you learn to make as many things as possible. Usually, people can make 1-5 items in a 2-hour session. We have 12 pottery wheels however we prefer to keep wheel groups to 11 people with 2 instructors. 

No limit. As much as they can use for handbuilding or throwing. Yes, we are fun like that!

A 2-hour session is $40 per person and this includes firing and glaze. No extra fees. We like to have 1 instructor for every 5 participants. Groups that participate in both handbuilding and throwing $45 per person. 

We can accommodate from 5 to 20 people. Groups above 11 participants must either choose handbuilding only, or split their time between handbuilding and throwing projects. We would have 10 people throwing while 10 are handbuilding and then switch so everyone can try both methods of creating with clay. Groups of 10 or less should choose between either throwing or handbuilding methods for your event. Groups that participate in both handbuilding and throwing $45 per person. 

More than 20 people. Yes we have done that too. We schedule your group to come in in waves and rotate people through different handbuilding stations. You will choose smaller projects like air plant wall pockets, jewelry or ornaments. Two or three projects per person depending on the size of your group and we could extend your time frame from the normal 2-hours to accommodate your group.

Usually 2-3 weeks. First your work has to dry 4-5 day before it goes into the kiln. The first firing, is known as the bisque firing (1945 degrees Fahrenheit) and this prepares the clay for glazing. After the bisque firing the work is glazed with the color you choose. We have 16 glazes to choose from and you can glaze each of your pieces a different color. Finally, the glaze fire (2232 degrees Fahrenheit). Each firing takes about a day to fire and a day to cool before we can open the kiln. It is a fun process!

We organize your work by that date you came in. Each piece is labeled with your name, the date and glaze number you chose.

Yes, and you have two options to choose from. Additional reservation room fee is only $40 per hour. 

Option 1: You can bring your own decorations, plates, cups and napkins and decorate the tables yourself (additional reservation time fees apply). 

Option 2: We can decorate; provide cups, plates, and napkins for you, at an additional fee of $50 per 10 people in your party. Decorations will include tablecloths, helium balloon centerpieces, ribbons, plates, cups, napkins and silverware.

Private events are usually scheduled Monday-Friday afternoons from 1-3 pm or 2-4pm, Saturdays and Sundays during any 2-hour time block between 1-8pm. However, if you would like more time to have snacks, lunch/dinner, play games or exchange gifts, we can extend your reservation time.
